The National Museum of Ship Models
and
Sea History

The 250 plus ship-models housed in our museum range in size from a half-inch Chinese river boat carved from a walnut, to the 16 foot long, 17th century flagship, "Victory" from Nelson's Battle of Trafalgar. Our models were purchased or donated from builders, museums, and families attempting to preserve our nautical heritage. Some of the larger models are from famous movies, and were purchased directly from studios in California before being restored in Illinois. Tugboat Annie, Cleopatra, Ben Hur, and other famous screenplays are represented. The photos below will give you a taste of what may be found in our museum. Please enjoy the photographs and we hope you will find time to visit us in the near future!
